We record the price of every product in Thomann's catalog every night. On November 3, 2026, 38,494 products were in stock. Since August 17, 4,214 of them, 11%, got cheaper at least once.
| Times cut since August 17 | Products |
|---|---|
| Once | 3,398 |
| Twice | 666 |
| 3 or 4 times | 128 |
| 5 times or more | 22 |
Of the 22 products cut five or more times, 17 are made by Ibanez. The other five are a Yamaha acoustic, a Yamaha Revstar, an Epiphone SG, a Hercules DJ controller and an Electro-Harmonix pedal.
Ibanez: down a few euros at a time
Ibanez AAD77M1E, $343
A grand dreadnought with a solid sitka spruce top, flamed maple back and sides and a pickup. #107 of 281 dreadnought acoustic guitars.
On August 17 it cost €399. Then €391 on August 23, €383 on August 31, €375 on September 1, €368 on September 2, and so on, thirteen cuts of €6 to €8 each, to €307 on November 1. That is 23% in eleven weeks, and none of the steps was big enough to look like a sale.
Ibanez ASH300, $1,424
A hollow-body Artstar with a spruce top, flamed maple body and Macassar ebony fingerboard, cut eight times: from €1,499 in August to €1,275 on October 28. #25 of 169 semiacoustic guitars.
The pattern repeats across the brand: the MDM1000 bass went from €1,079 to €959 in seven steps, the BTB805MS from €1,405 to €1,289. Since August, Ibanez cut prices 395 times across its 752 products in stock, and raised them 5 times.
Ibanez SR300EDX, $462
A 4-string bass with an okoume body, a five-piece maple and walnut neck and two PowerSpan humbuckers, cut seven times, from €463 to €414. #1 of 213 miscellaneous 4-String basses.
Who cuts, and who only raises
| Brand | Products | Cuts | Rises |
|---|---|---|---|
| DPA | 116 | 76 | 9 |
| JBL | 67 | 42 | 2 |
| Ibanez | 752 | 395 | 5 |
| Sennheiser | 692 | 330 | 373 |
| Rode | 104 | 45 | 31 |
| Allen & Heath | 127 | 53 | 106 |
| Universal Audio | 69 | 28 | 39 |
Counted per product, DPA's microphones and JBL's monitors and speakers were cut even more often than Ibanez. Sennheiser is the busiest brand in both directions: 330 cuts and 373 rises, which is why its wireless systems need watching rather than waiting. Allen & Heath and Universal Audio raised more than they cut; we covered Allen & Heath's two rounds of rises in October.
Brands that never move
Some brands didn't change a single price in eleven weeks. Adams, with 204 orchestral percussion and brass products in stock, cut nothing and raised nothing. Neither did C.A. Seydel Söhne's 274 harmonicas, Miraphone's brass or Sirus wireless systems. NS Design raised one price and Startone five, but cut none.
What it means for you
If a product you want is coming down in small steps, the next step is likely. Most of the Ibanez models above were still falling in the last week of October. If it belongs to a brand that never moves, there is no point waiting for a better price, Black Friday included.
Our price records go back to August, and our weekly price reports name the products that keep falling.
Where the numbers come from. Thomann's partner feed, which we read every night. A cut or a rise is any change of more than 0.5% from one recorded price to the next between August 17 and November 3, 2026, counted for products in stock on November 3. Brands in the table have at least 60 products in stock. Prices are in euros, as Thomann sets them.
