Thomann lists more than 4,000 bundles, each described as a "bundle offer comprising" a list of products. For 373 of them, every product inside is also sold on its own, so we could add up what the same things cost separately on October 31, 2026, and compare.
| Bundles | |
|---|---|
| Priced item by item | 373 |
| Median saving | 1.9%, about $20 |
| Save 5% or more | 53 |
| Save 10% or more | 22 |
So a bundle is almost always a little cheaper, but rarely by much. Nine out of ten save less than 7%.
Where bundles save the most
| Section | Bundles | Median saving |
|---|---|---|
| Microphones and wireless | 202 | 2.2% |
| PA | 62 | 1.6% |
| Studio and recording | 59 | 1.8% |
| Guitars and basses | 32 | 1.2% |
| DJ | 12 | 1.3% |
Most bundles pair the main product with something small, a stand, a cable, a pad, so the discount is small too. The bigger savings come from bundles that combine several expensive parts.
The bundle that costs less than its own base set
Sennheiser XSW-D Portable HeadmiKe Bundle, $281
A compact digital wireless set, made with DSLR cameras in mind, plus a t.bone headset microphone. On October 31 the XSW-D Portable Base Set alone cost $289 and the headset $66: together $355. The bundle with both was $278, cheaper than the base set without the mic.
The four-channel Sirus Quad wireless bundles come next, at 19% to 20% below their parts: the Quad R with four pocket transmitters was $412 against $508 separately.
A starter rig for 11% less
Harley Benton TE-52 NA / Mooer Hornet Set, $258
A T-style guitar with an ash body and a 15-watt modelling combo with Bluetooth. Separately, $189 and $99; together, $256. That's $32 less, enough for a strap, a cable and a set of strings.
The typical case
Yamaha HS 8 Bundle, $652
Two HS 8 monitors and a set of t.akustik isolation pads. Separately $659, together $647: 1.9% off, the median exactly. Worth it only if you wanted the pads anyway.
When a bundle makes sense
- You need every item in it. A 2% discount on something you'd never buy is a loss.
- The extras are ones you'd pick yourself. A bundled stand or cable is usually a basic one; if you'd buy a better one, the saving disappears.
- The main product is the same. Check that the guitar, mic or speaker inside is exactly the model you compared, in the colour you want.
- Do the sum. Every bundle page lists its contents. Add up the separate prices; it takes a minute and sometimes shows a bundle like the Sennheiser one above.
Where the numbers come from. Every bundle in Thomann's partner feed on October 31, 2026, that lists its contents. We matched each listed product by name to the same product sold separately and kept only bundles where every part matched and was in stock: 373 of them. Bundles whose contents we couldn't match fully were left out; the Harley Benton set above was checked by hand. Prices are Thomann's US-dollar prices on that day.
