On October 27 we wrote that Fender had split its prices: Player II models down, American Ultra II up about 5% (Fender split its prices in October). Between October 28 and 31, the picture changed again.
25 Fender prices fell to their lowest since August 17, the American Ultra II among them. At the same time, 48 Fender listings left Thomann's catalog, more than any other brand.
American Ultra II: back below August
Fender American Ultra II Telecaster, $2,401
The maple-neck Ultra II Tele in Ultraburst went from €2,349 to €2,149, an 8.5% cut. #5 of 178 T style guitars.
The rest of the Ultra II line followed: the left-handed Stratocaster from €2,399 to €2,199, a maple-neck Stratocaster from €2,349 to €2,229 and the Precision Bass from €2,486 to €2,349. After the rise earlier in October, all of them now cost less than they did in August.
Player II and Standard: the biggest percentages
Fender Player II Modified Stratocaster HSS, $1,016
The Player II Modified Strat with a humbucker in the bridge fell 12%, from €1,038 to €909. #2 of 622 ST style guitars.
- Two Standard Telecasters dropped by about €50 to €60, to €538 and €545.
- The Player II Jazzmaster went from €888 to €849, and a Player II Strat HSS from €799 to €769.
Vintera III and the amp
Three Vintera III models fell 5 to 8%: the 60s Precision Bass to €1,111, the 50s Telecaster to €1,147 and the 60s Stratocaster to €1,079.
Fender '59 Bassman LTD, $2,356
The tweed 4x10 combo went from €2,299 to €2,109. #13 of 100 tube guitar combos.
Smaller items moved too: the '55/'56 Whiteguard Tele pickup set fell 15% to €223, and a pre-wired Tex-Mex Strat pickguard 8% to €155.
What left, and what it may mean
The 48 Fender listings that went were mostly not the ones that got cheaper. The most expensive were Custom Shop and signature guitars: a '62/'63 Strat at €6,599, a 1969 Strat, a '57 Tele Relic, the Jack White Triplecaster, the Johnny Marr Jaguar and the Lee Sklar P-Bass. Cuts on the core lines and a thinner Custom Shop shelf at the same time may simply be stock being rebalanced before the winter sales; Thomann doesn't say. If an Ultra II was on your list, it is cheaper now than at any point since we started recording daily in August.
Where the numbers come from. Thomann's partner feed, which we read every night. We compare each product's price on October 27 and October 31, 2026. A drop counts as real when the old price had held for at least 14 days and the new price is the lowest since August 17, 2026. Prices are in euros, converted at the European Central Bank rate.
