How much does a pair of studio monitors cost? Mind the 'price per piece'

The most important thing about studio monitor prices: most nearfield monitors are sold per speaker, and you need two. A $179 monitor means a $358 pair. Small desktop monitors are often sold as a pair. Check the listing for "price per piece" or "pair".

With that in mind, a pair costs about $110 for small desktop speakers, $350 to $650 for the popular 5 to 8-inch models, and from about $1,300 for Genelec, Neumann and other pro brands. Thomann had 366 active nearfield monitors in stock on October 19, 2026, among 516 monitoring products in total.
