A new acoustic piano costs from about $3,400 for an upright to more than $100,000 for a concert grand. On October 18, 2026, Thomann had 145 upright pianos in stock: the cheapest cost $3,365, half cost more than $10,567, and only 5 cost less than $5,000. Grand pianos started at $7,641, with a median of $35,436.
Delivery, tuning and a bench add to the price, and every acoustic piano needs tuning once or twice a year. If that's too much, a digital piano costs a fraction.
