Laminated Plywood Double Basses

Lamination tends to create a more even, focused tone, often described as 'clear' but potentially lacking some of the complex overtones of a solid wood bass.

Surprisingly, they are *less* susceptible. The layered construction helps mitigate the effects of humidity, reducing the risk of cracking or warping.

Examine the edges and corners for visible glue lines or gaps. A well-made bass will have a clean, consistent lamination with no signs of stress or separation.
