14" Brass Snare Drums

Bell brass is a higher copper content alloy, resulting in a warmer, more complex tone. Sheet brass is brighter and more direct, with a more focused attack.

The bearing edge significantly impacts resonance and tone; a round edge promotes more sustain, while a sharper edge focuses the attack.

A flanged rim has a second, smaller ring attached to the main rim, which alters the drum's resonance and adds a unique tonal characteristic, often increasing sustain.
