  • Handmade by master violin maker Marco Dotti in the workshop of Edgar Russ in Cremona
  • based on the violin made by Guarneri del Gesu in 1742
  • whose previous owners included Ferdinand David von Leipzig and Jascha Heifetz.
  • Top made of typically Italian spalted hazel spruce from the Val di Fiemme
  • Back made of flamed Bosnian sycamore maple
  • air-dried
  • Sides and neck made from the same wood as the back
  • Fingerboard made from finest ebony
  • The instrument is varnished in the same way as in the 17th century by the great Cremonese masters
  • Wood primer based on casein and calcium
  • Lacquer finish with an amber/linseed oil lacquer prepared by Edgar Russ himself
