Product Description
Doepfer A-118 Noise/Random, Noise/Random Voltage Generator
Module A-118 is a noise and random voltage generator. It produces the following signals: white noise, coloured noise, and random voltage. White and coloured noise can be used as audio signals, and also (in conjunction with an S&H module) as a control voltage. The resulting random voltage is mainly used as a control voltage, especially because of its low frequency content.
There are knobs to control the rate of change and amplitude of the random voltage, and two LEDs indicate the state of the voltage.
, Width: 8HP / 40.3 mm, Depth: 40 mm (measured from the back side of the front panel), Power requirements: +20 mA (+ 12V) / -10 mA (-12V)
- • Classic Doepfer build quality: robust, reliable, and feels very solid.
- • Versatile noise generation: white, coloured, and genuinely useful random voltage.
- • Low-frequency random voltage ideal for subtle modulation and rhythmic patterns.
- • Compact 8HP footprint makes it perfect for dense modular setups.
- • Limited control compared to more advanced noise modules.
- • Power draw could be a factor in systems with limited power supplies.
- • No output attenuators; signal levels might require external adjustment.
