Electro-VoiceEVOLVE G2
Three column systems for gigs, DJ sets and speeches: the 30M, the 50 and the 50M. Before you read the spec sheet, draw your venue below and see whether one is loud enough at the back, or you need two.

Will it be loud enough at the back?
Pick a venue or type its size, say what you play, and choose a system. The map shows the level across the floor; the red notes are what you'd measure at the front and at the back wall.
How we model it: maximum SPL from Thomann's listings (125 dB for the 30M, 129 dB for the 50 and 50M), music played 6 dB below that peak, level falling 6 dB per doubling of distance, 6 dB down at the edges of the 120° coverage. No room reflections, so indoors you'll hear a little more. It is a planning sketch, not a measurement.

What changed from the first EVOLVE
The first generation is still in stock, cheaper. Here is what the extra money buys, line by line from Thomann's listings.
| EVOLVE 30M | 30M G2 | EVOLVE 50M | 50M G2 | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maximum SPL | 123 dB | 125 dB | 127 dB | 129 dB |

| Price today | $1,386 | $1,676 | out of stock | $2,626 |
For a speech or music from a phone, the first generation does the job and saves money. Once you plug in condenser microphones or fight feedback on a small stage, the +48 V and the feedback suppression are the reasons to pay for G2.

EVOLVE G2 against the other column systems
Column PA systems with a 10 or 12-inch subwoofer at Thomann, at today's prices. Specs as Thomann lists them.
| System | Price | Max SPL |
|---|---|---|
| JBL Eon One MK2 | $1,492 | 123 dB |
| Electro-Voice EVOLVE 30M G2 | $1,676 | 125 dB |
| JBL PRX One | $1,709 | not listed |
| LD Systems Maui 28 G3 MIX | $1,732 | 127 dB |
| RCF EVOX JMIX9 | $1,786 | 130 dB |
| Bose L1 Pro16 | $1,862 | 124 dB peak |
| Electro-Voice EVOLVE 50 G2 | $2,179 | 129 dB |
| Electro-Voice EVOLVE 50M G2 | $2,626 | 129 dB |
Brands don't measure maximum SPL the same way (peak or continuous, with or without the subwoofer), so a gap of 1 to 3 dB on paper is not a verdict. Prices update every night from Thomann's feed; links to Thomann are affiliate links.
Where they sit among 63 column PA systems in stock
The 30M G2 costs more than 38 and the 50M G2 more than 53 of the 63 column systems Thomann has in stock. On paper, RCF's EVOX JMIX9 lists more output for less money, so compare the features you will actually use: EV lists app control, a stereo Bluetooth pair and feedback suppression.
Sheet 5 / 6Who it is for
Which one, or none
EVOLVE 30M G2
- Singer-songwriters, duos and speeches in rooms up to a bar or a small hall.
- You carry it alone: the heaviest part is a 15.7 kg subwoofer.
- You want the full mixer and a Hi-Z input in the smaller size.
EVOLVE 50 G2
- DJs and playback: more low end and level, without paying for inputs you won't use.
- Two microphones and a stereo line are enough for you.
EVOLVE 50M G2
- Small bands and wedding gigs: four mic inputs, Hi-Z, Aux out for a monitor.
- Bigger halls: as a pair, it covers rooms one 30M can't.
None of them
- Outdoor events for hundreds of people, or a loud rock band: that is full-range speakers with separate subs.
- Background music in a shop or a restaurant: installed speakers cost less and stay put.
Sheet 6 / 6Questions
Questions about the EVOLVE G2
What is the difference between the EVOLVE 30M, 50 and 50M G2?
Size and mixer. The 30M has a 10-inch subwoofer, a column with six 2.8-inch drivers and lists 125 dB maximum SPL. The 50 and 50M have a 12-inch subwoofer, eight 3.5-inch drivers and 129 dB. The M models carry the full mixer: four mic/line inputs, a Hi-Z input, a stereo line input, RCA, 3.5 mm and Bluetooth, plus Aux out and a footswitch jack. The 50 without M has two mic/line inputs, a stereo line input, RCA and 3.5 mm.
How many people can an EVOLVE 50 G2 cover?
It depends on the room and the music more than on a head count. In our stage plot model, one 50 G2 brings a 14 × 22 m hall to about 97 dB at the back wall, where a band or DJ wants about 100 dB; a pair reaches about 99 dB. Try your own room in the stage plot above.
What is new in G2 compared with the first EVOLVE?
From Thomann's listings: 2 dB more maximum SPL (30M 123 to 125 dB, 50M 127 to 129 dB), 1,500 W peak instead of 1,000 W, +48 V phantom power (the first 50M listed 15 V), AFS feedback suppression, music ducking, effects, True Wireless Stereo over Bluetooth and a 2.8-inch colour display. The campaign brief adds upgraded subwoofer handles and soft transport cases.
Can I use two EVOLVE G2 as a stereo pair?
Yes. Bluetooth audio streams to two systems as a True Wireless Stereo pair, and QuickSmart Link with the QuickSmart Mobile app configures, controls and monitors several EV systems.
Do condenser microphones work on the EVOLVE G2?
Yes. Thomann lists +48 V phantom power, the standard condenser microphones expect.
How heavy and how tall is it?
The 30M G2: subwoofer 15.7 kg, column 2.7 kg, spacer pole 1.4 kg per segment, 1,995 mm overall. The 50M G2: subwoofer 19.35 kg, column 4.75 kg, spacer bar 1.1 kg, 2,093 mm overall.
How much do the EVOLVE G2 cost?
At Thomann today: the 30M G2 $1,676 (€1,499), the 50 G2 $2,179 (€1,949), the 50M G2 $2,626 (€2,349). White versions cost the same. We have recorded their prices every night since October 23, 2026.
G2, or the first EVOLVE while it is still in stock?
The first 30M is $1,386 and the first 50M out of stock. For the difference, G2 adds +48 V phantom power, feedback suppression, effects, stereo Bluetooth pairing and 2 dB of headroom. If you only play music from a phone, the first generation still does the job.
