Frequently Asked Questions

The NT1-A generally has a cleaner, more detailed sound, but the SC 1100 offers more versatility with its multiple polar patterns.
It's a functional shock mount – better than nothing – and does a decent job isolating the mic from vibrations, but a premium aftermarket mount would offer even greater isolation.
A preamp with a good amount of clean gain is ideal; something like a Focusrite Scarlett Solo or similar will provide a noticeable improvement in the signal-to-noise ratio.
