Frequently Asked Questions

The SM57 has a more refined, smoother sound and a wider frequency response, but the MB 75 gets you 80% of the way there at a fraction of the cost.
It's passable for acoustic guitar, but the boxy character might not flatter the instrument’s natural tone – a condenser mic would be a better choice.
Given the 300 Ohm impedance, a preamp with a good amount of clean gain and a low noise floor is ideal to maximize its potential and avoid a thin sound.
