Frequently Asked Questions

The R102 has a warmer, more 'vintage' character than the SM7B, lacking the latter's aggressive mid-range presence. The SM7B is more versatile for a wider range of sources, while the R102 shines with vocal or guitar amp tones.
While functional, the tripod is best suited for studio or podcasting use. The maximum load capacity is reasonable, but I’d suggest a more robust stand for any serious live applications.
Ribbon mics are more fragile than dynamics. Avoid sudden, extremely loud peaks; a pop filter is highly recommended to prevent plosives from damaging the ribbon.
