Frequently Asked Questions

The Schoeps is often considered the benchmark, but the 8018 offers a slightly more forward and detailed sound, while the Schoeps can be more neutral. Both are excellent, it depends on the desired sonic signature.
While most recorders support MS, you'll need a decoder to convert the MS signal back to left/right channels – check your recorder's manual for compatibility.
The included windshield helps, but for truly windy environments, a blimp-style windjammer is highly recommended to prevent unwanted noise and protect the capsule.
