Frequently Asked Questions

Meinl’s tend to have a slightly warmer, more complex sound than Zildjian’s, which can be a bit brighter and more focused. Both are excellent, but the Meinl offers a more vintage-inspired tone.
While capable, their size and projection are best suited for ensemble playing. They'll overwhelm smaller venues and may be difficult to control solo.
The hand-hammered lathing is noticeably more refined than machine-latted options, contributing to the cymbal’s responsiveness and intricate wash – a hallmark of higher-end orchestral cymbals.
