  • Handmade master violin by master violin maker Edgar Russ himself in Cremona
  • modelled on the ‘Cremonese’ by Antonio Stradivari from 1715
  • Top made of typically Italian split hazel spruce from Val di Fiemme
  • air-dried for at least 20 years
  • Back made of flamed Bosnian maple
  • air-dried for at least 25 years
  • Sides and neck made from the same wood as the back
  • Fingerboard made from finest ebony
  • The instrument is varnished entirely in the manner of the great Cremonese masters of the 17th century – this includes: a wood primer based on casein and calcium
  • an amber-linseed oil varnish specially formulated by Edgar Russ and coloured with pigments to give the instrument a faithful reproduction of the original
