Frequently Asked Questions
Acrylic is significantly brighter and more resonant than maple, lacking some of the warmth and low-end thump. It's more focused and cuts better in a dense mix.
Absolutely. The included heads are solid, but you could easily swap them for Evans or other brands to further tailor the tom's sound. A coated head would soften the attack and add some body.
The DW Design hardware is well-built and reliable for gigging, but it uses slightly simpler components and finishes compared to the high-end Collector's Series. It’s still a significant step above many other brands’ hardware, though.
