Between September 30 and October 23, 2026, drums and percussion at Thomann saw 201 real price cuts and 110 real rises. The cuts were spread over electronic kits, mid-priced acoustic kits and shell packs; the rises clustered in a few brands, above all DW's premium drums and two cymbal makers.
Electronic kits: Roland down, Yamaha mixed
Roland TD-713 V-Drums Kit, $6,666
Down from $6,721 (€5,998) on October 17, the biggest cut of the month at Thomann in any department. In August 2025 it cost €6,399. #17 of 87 electronic drumkits.
Roland's entry kit moved too: the TD-02K went from €349 back to €329, its price in August 2025. Yamaha cut its DTX402K by 6% to $388 but raised the DTX6K3-X by 7% to $1,780 on October 7.
DW: PDP cheaper, Collector's dearer
DW repriced on October 1, and the same day brought cuts and rises:
- Cheaper: PDP MainStage kits fell from €1,098 to €1,149 to a single price of €999, PDP Concept Maple bass drums and snares by 4 to 20%, the PDP 800 pedal from €125 to €103 and the DW 9000 XF pedal from €479 to €411.
- Dearer: Collector's Series kits rose 6 to 11%, the Satin Oil Cherry from €5,298 to €5,899, and Design Series floor toms by up to 21%.

Ludwig and Gretsch: cuts only
Ludwig made 10 real cuts and no rises. The biggest were on Continental 4-piece shell sets, down 20 to 22%: the 24-inch set went from €1,729, the same price we recorded in August 2025, to €1,355.

Gretsch Drums made 20 real cuts. The Broadkaster Jazz and USA Custom kits each lost about €500, and the Catalina Maple 7-piece shell sets about €50.

DrumCraft went both ways: Series 6 kits about 4% cheaper, Series 3 kits about 9% dearer. Pearl's Decade Maple fell 4.5% and Tama made 11 small cuts.
Cymbals: Meinl down, Zildjian and Zultan up
- Meinl made 14 real cuts and no rises, mostly on Byzance: the 14" Byzance Fast Hi-Hat went from €499 to €479, the Benny Greb Sand Set from €1,399 to €1,349.
- Zildjian raised 12 prices on October 21, mostly rides: the 20" A Custom Ride went from €419 to €449, and it cost €389 in August 2025.
- Zultan, Thomann's own cymbal brand, raised 24 prices on October 1, by 3 to 25%. The Impulz cymbal set went from €398 to €498.

Questions
Is now a good time to buy an electronic drum kit?
For Roland, yes: the TD-713 is at its lowest price since we started tracking, and the TD-02K is back at its 2025 price. Yamaha's DTX6K3-X just went up, so there is no reason to rush for that one.
Why did DW raise some prices and cut others on the same day?
That is how a repricing looks: the budget PDP range got cheaper while the US-made Collector's Series got dearer. Fender did the same in October with its Mexican and American guitars.
How we measured. Euro prices from Thomann's partner feed, recorded every night. We compared each listing's price on September 30 and October 23, 2026, counting changes of at least 0.5%. A real cut means the old price had held for at least 14 days and the new one is the lowest we have recorded since August 17, 2026; a real rise means a price above any we recorded since then.
