Inphonik
Inphonik is a French audio software company known for creating sophisticated sample-based instruments and virtual synthesizers that combine deep sound design with precise recreation of vintage hardware. Their RYM2612 plugin is an acclaimed emulation of the Yamaha YM2612 FM synthesis chip found in the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, capturing its characteristic gritty FM digital sound. PCM2612 extends the concept by allowing custom sample import into the chip-inspired synthesis engine. Inphonik occupies a unique intersection of chiptune culture, FM synthesis history, and professional sound design tools.
