The GC1 TA3 PE is a clever compromise, offering a genuine grand piano experience with the added benefit of the TransAcoustic function. It's a great option for schools, churches, or homes where space is limited and silent practice is needed, while still providing a respectable level of performance and a beautiful aesthetic. It’s a solid instrument for intermediate players or institutions needing multiple pianos.

Product Description

Yamaha GC 1 TA3 PE Grand Piano, Stutz Grand Piano

The GC 1 grand combines the duplex scale and rich tonal character of the much sought-after C1 grand with cost-saving advantages in the choice of materials and in production. This results in an instrument that is both exceptionally expressive and exceptionally affordable.

Using a similar mechanism to the tried and tested Silent series, the hammers do not come into contact with the strings if desired; instead, digital sounds are played. Unlike Silent Pianos, however, you need neither headphones nor additional amplification: the sound is reproduced via the soundboard.

  • With TransAcoustic function
  • 88 Keys
  • 3 Pedals (middle pedal: single-note pedal)
  • Length: 161 cm
  • Width: 149 cm
  • Height: 101 cm
  • Weight: 308 kg
  • Colour: Black high gloss polished
  • Includes piano bench
  • nationwide delivery within Germany by piano forwarding service and an on-site tuning service.
PROS
  • • Duplex scale design delivers a rich, complex, and resonant tone.
  • • TransAcoustic function provides a unique, room-filling sound without amplification.
  • • Silent Piano mechanism allows practice without disturbing others via the soundboard.
  • • High-gloss black finish provides a sophisticated and elegant aesthetic.
CONS
  • • Material choices prioritize affordability, potentially impacting long-term durability.
  • • The action, while functional, won't match the responsiveness of higher-end Yamaha grands.
  • • The smaller size (161cm) limits the bass frequencies and overall projection.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's a unique experience; the sound is reproduced through the soundboard, so it’s more natural but lacks the power and flexibility of a dedicated amplification system.
No, the GC1’s action is based on the Silent Piano mechanism, which prioritizes quietness over the complexity and sensitivity of Yamaha’s flagship models.
While it keeps the price point more accessible, expect a potentially shorter lifespan compared to instruments built with premium materials, especially in high-use environments.
