The MojoMojo is a surprisingly versatile little overdrive, leaning heavily into that classic tweed amp vibe. It's fantastic for blues and rock players who want to push their tube amps without losing dynamics or clarity – a real sweet spot for adding warmth and grit. It's a budget-friendly way to get a genuinely unique overdrive tone.

Product Description

tc electronic MojoMojo, Guitar Effects

With the new generation of pedals and a plethora of digital gems, the tradition of good, old-fashioned analogue sounds is still preserved.

  • The Mojomojo is an overdrive that offers its own approach. Primarily intended for giving tube amps the desired touch "more"
  • the Mojomojo is characterised by its unusual simultaneous combination of clarity and little compression. This means that the sound remains clear and dynamic
  • even when the amp is really made to sweat. In this sense
  • it is more like a good old tweed amp than a TS-type pedal. It is the perfect match for many blues players
  • but also for rockers who
  • despite a desire for substantial distortion
  • have no intention of producing a flat-ironed carpet of sound. An additional bass control (treble/tone is standard) prevents the thinning that is a well-known trait of green-coloured overdrives (which many also enjoy). Nice: turn down the volume control on your guitar
  • and the sound clears up as with a good amp.

, Overdrive, Gain - Level - Bass - Treble controls, 2 Different voice settings, True bypass, Power supply: 9 V DC power supply or battery (both not included)

PROS
  • • Unique tweed-amp voicing offers clarity and dynamic compression.
  • • Bass control allows for tailored low-end response with any amp.
  • • Compact size and robust build quality for reliable gigging.
  • • Affordable price point makes it accessible for players of all levels.
CONS
  • • Limited tonal flexibility compared to multi-mode distortion pedals.
  • • May not provide sufficient gain for players seeking extreme distortion.
  • • True bypass implementation could be improved for absolute signal transparency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Unlike a TS, the MojoMojo emphasizes clarity and compression, aiming for a more authentic tweed amp response rather than a mid-humped boost.
Absolutely; it's designed to add warmth and harmonic richness to any amp, including solid-state models, to emulate a tube amp’s character.
It's a more nuanced control, shaping the low-end response to prevent muddiness while retaining a full, warm tone – it’s more than just a simple bass boost.
