The FR-4 X BK is a seriously clever bit of kit – Roland's nailed the core V-Accordion experience in a really manageable package. It's ideal for students, gigging musicians needing portability, or anyone wanting to explore accordion sounds without the bulk of a traditional instrument. The sound quality is fantastic, a real step up from older models.

Frequently Asked Questions

Roland’s pressure-sensing circuit accurately translates bellows movement into sound, but the feel is slightly different – a bit more consistent and less ‘springy’ than a mechanical bellows.
While technically possible, the internal amplifier is well-integrated and designed for the FR-4 X BK’s chassis; modifications could compromise the instrument’s balance and acoustic properties.
The expansions are integrated but can be managed through the FR-4x editor software, allowing for some customization and organization of the included sounds.
