Product Description

Paiste 18" Signature Full Crash, Paiste Signature Line, 18" Full crash

Along the way to the optimal cymbal, a special Paiste Sound Alloy from patented bronze was developed for their Signature Series. The result are cymbals that have been gaining recognition since their introduction in 1989 and have proven themselves both in the studio, as well as live. Their sound enjoys a high expressive power that can be described all at once as delicate, transparent, musical, emotional and colourful.

The Full Crash of the Signature Line is a medium-heavy, versatile cymbal with a bright, full crash and a medium-length fading out time. A very corpulent sound, that tingles and shimmers.

PROS
  • • Exceptional Paiste Sound Alloy bronze delivers complex shimmer and warmth
  • • Versatile medium-heavy weight suits a wide range of musical styles
  • • Medium fade provides a controlled, musical decay, avoiding excessive ringing
  • • Corpulent sound is rich and full, offering excellent projection and presence
CONS
  • • Premium-priced, represents a significant investment for many drummers
  • • Can be overly bright for very subtle or vintage-focused playing styles
  • • Full crash character limits its suitability for very quiet or delicate passages

Frequently Asked Questions

The Full Crash is heavier and louder, with a longer sustain and more pronounced shimmer, while the Medium offers a more controlled and nuanced response.
Yes, Paiste's Sound Alloy is a proprietary blend that contributes to the cymbal's unique tonal complexity and responsiveness, setting it apart from standard bronze.
While they share the Sound Alloy, ensure you consider the overall tonal balance of your kit; overly bright combinations can be harsh – a darker ride cymbal often complements this well.
