Frequently Asked Questions

Poplar is warmer and more mellow than maple, lacking some of maple's bright, cutting projection. It’s excellent for rock, pop, and even some jazz, but might feel a little subdued for very aggressive styles.
The hardware is perfectly adequate for practice and occasional gigs, but serious touring drummers will likely want to upgrade to heavier-duty stands and a better pedal for long-term reliability.
The poplar shells tune well across a decent range, but they’re not as responsive to extreme tuning changes as some higher-end woods. Expect a more natural, mid-focused tone regardless of your tuning approach.
