Reactive attenuation, like Fryette’s, maintains the amp’s natural dynamic response and harmonic content better than resistive types, which tend to dull the sound and lose definition at lower volumes.
While technically possible, the Power Station 100 is designed to work best with tube amplifiers to fully leverage its reactive attenuation and tube-driven saturation characteristics. Solid-state amps won’t benefit from the reactive design.
The Depth control subtly adjusts the amount of low-frequency filtering, allowing you to fine-tune the bass response and tighten up the sound, especially useful when attenuating.
