The BE-OD offers a much higher gain level and a more aggressive, modern distortion character compared to the smoother, mid-focused Tube Screamer; it’s a different beast entirely.
While the BE-OD has an effects loop, it's designed for post-amp use and connecting it to a preamp might lead to undesirable noise or signal issues; experiment cautiously.
The Tight control helps tame the low-end, but it's primarily designed to shape the distortion tone; a completely clean amp might still sound muddy, so a slightly overdriven amp is often ideal.
