The Deluxe Memory Man is a fantastic choice for players seeking that warm, vintage delay vibe with a touch of modulation. It's a real character pedal – perfect for adding depth and movement to your sound, especially if you’re chasing those old-school echo tones. It’s not a workhorse for pristine, long delays, but excels at what it does.

Product Description

Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man, Deluxe Memory Man

One of the most popular analog delays, for AD's it has an unusually long maximum delay time of 550 milliseconds. If the modulation of the integrated chorus/vibrato effect is set, the sound comes close to the legendary old tape echos. But even more experimental floating sounds of more intense modulation are one no problem for the Memory Man. Ideal for fans of classic delay sounds.

  • Warm analog echo to 550 ms
  • With chorus and vibrato
  • True bypass
  • Floating sounds
  • Dimensions (W x D x H): 120 x 145 x 64 mm
  • Including power supply (24DC-100)
PROS
  • • Warm, analog repeats evoke classic tape echo character.
  • • Unique modulation creates swirling, ethereal textures easily.
  • • True bypass preserves your signal integrity when disengaged.
  • • Compact size makes it pedalboard-friendly for most setups.
CONS
  • • 550ms max delay is relatively short compared to modern digital options.
  • • The modulation controls can be a bit sensitive, requiring careful tweaking.
  • • Analog design means some noise can creep in at higher gain settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a simpler, integrated chorus – not as versatile as a dedicated unit, but it adds a lovely, organic swirl to the repeats.
Absolutely; the warm analog tone pairs beautifully with high-output pickups, softening edges and adding sustain.
At very low volumes with a pristine clean amp, some hiss is audible, typical of analog designs, but it's easily masked with a bit of gain.
