• the national Turkic instrument
• extends back to antiquity
• over 1500 years old and used by Turkish communities in Central
• Western and Northern Asia. Many instruments in Anatolian Turkish music culture
• especially the bağlama
• are derived from the kopuz. There is a belief in Turkish communities that kopuz was invented by Dede Korkut and was a sacred instrument. It's a three-stringed instrument
• without a curtain on its handle
• playing with a hard plectrum similar to that of a tambur. Which looks like a kind of belt
