AudioThing

AudioThing is a boutique Italian plugin developer celebrated for its unconventional, deeply creative approach to audio effect design, often drawing inspiration from vintage, rare, or forgotten hardware and tape-based recording techniques. The company has released acclaimed plugins including Outer Space (a vintage tape echo emulator), Wires (a wire recorder effect), and Things — a series of micro-effects inspired by obscure audio devices. AudioThing's aesthetic philosophy prizes sonic character, imperfection, and texture over pristine technical performance — a stance that has earned them a devoted following among electronic musicians, lo-fi producers, and experimental audio artists. Their pricing is fair and their plugins are optimized for modern systems.
